![]() He enjoyed nature, being an active jogger and taking trips to Canada with his many friends and family members. He was an active board member of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation. Pokorney was recognized as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, Alpha Omega Alpha, Medical Honorary Society and was an active member of Temple Beth Israel in Sharon, serving on its administrative board and teaching Sunday school. Pokorney held an assistant Clinical Professorship of Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and was a member of the consulting staff of Sharon Regional Hospital in Sharon, Pa., UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville and Farrell, Pa., and Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Pa.ĭr. ![]() He was a practicing board-certified dermatologist recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology. ![]() Following his medical degree, he completed a year of internship at University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., followed by his dermatology residency at Washington University, Barnes Hospital in St Louis. His education continued as he graduated from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.Va., in 1978. Pokorney received his bachelor's degree from John's Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1974. He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of Grace Bales Pokorney and the late Sidney Pokorney.Ī 1971 graduate of Tridelphia High School in Wheeling, Dr. Thursday at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. Dale Robert Pokorney, M.D., 51, of 930 Forest Lane, died at 10:45 p.m.
